    Visual Basic Migration Roadshow

If you are a VB6 developer (or know one) and live in Silicon Valley, Minneapolis, Dallas or Boston, check out the Visual Basic Migration Roadshow:

"Come spend an evening with Brian A. Randell, a senior consultant with MCW Technologies and a Visual Basic MVP. Brian’s been using Visual Basic since Version 2.0 hit the market and he’s spent the last 18 years building solutions and helping developers hone their skills. Brian will demonstrate just how productive (and fun!) development can be with Visual Basic 2005 and he’ll explain how you can make a smooth transition from Visual Basic 6.0."

    Tech Ed 2005

Just a quick note from humid Orlando. Tech Ed 2005 is going great! The Hands-on-Labs (HOLs) proctored by MCTs are a huge success! I'm having a lot of fun, acquiring many tshirts, books and keychains and learning bunches more about Visual Studio 2005. Of course, I'm busier than a one-armed paper-hanger doing said HOL proctoring (Web Development track) so I don't have much time for blogging, but wanted to let my reading public know that, yes! I still exist and will return soon :-)

Visual Studio 2005 Developers Conference - in Omaha, too!

Very exciting news! An official Microsoft event being held near the middle of nowhere*! (as well as other locations :-)

Thursday, June 2, at the Omaha Marriott Hotel from 8am to 5pm. There are 3 tracks: ASP.NET 2.0, Visual Studio Team System and Building Smart Clients with Visual Studio 2005.

The cost is $99 and the goodies include 3 MS Press books (worth $90), as well as Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite Beta 2 DVD, the latest SQL Server 2005 CTP, and Visual Studio/MSDN Transition Guide.

*I'm not saying Omaha is the middle of nowhere (as that would be Lincoln, where I live ;-) - Omaha has a Cost Plus World Market (yes, and a Krispy Kreme) and thus qualifies as civilization :-)
